Speed and endurance come together beautifully aboard Trek's Domane 4.7. Making it happen are race-winning Trek technologies like IsoSpeed, a pro-proven geometry, and of course, Trek's renowned OCLV carbon. Carbon also compromises the unique IsoSpeed fork for perfect handling everywhere. The 4.7 rolls on quality Bontrager components including aluminum wheels, bar and stem, a carbon seatpost and a supportive seat. Plus, you get a precision-shifting Shimano Ultegra drivetrain with a compact crankset for easier climbing and Shimano Ultegra brakes for total control on the descents. Uncompromisingly fast, confidently stable, sublimely comfortable, the Domane 4.7 masters long, epic rides with ease while also delivering unrivaled speed and comfort over the roughest roads that dare to challenge you.

Great bike for long road rides. You may want to look at the rear gear cassette it is an 11-28, I changed mine out to an 11-32, San Diego is all hills. Smile and enjoy the ride.
I love my 4.7. Staff at Village pointed me in the right direction. The 4.7 was / is my first road bike purch. and I honestly do not see myself buying another roadie!!
Fairly lightweight, solid shifting. The smoothness of the ride really shines going downhill on rough pavement. Vibrating/bouncing is minimized, and the tires feel confidently connected to the road. All Ultegra components. My one complaint: white seat, white handlebar tape, white bike, black lettering. Going to look like it needs cleaning all the time. :-)
