I've had this bike for about 5 days now, and I really like it a lot! The only reason I gave this bike 4 out of 5 stars is because before I bought this one, I test rode a different bike and it was an amazing ride, but out of my price range. I ride mainly for exercise, but also for recreation as well. I wanted a hybrid for the added durability because I ride in many different locations and I never know what I'll be riding into. This bike has definitely met my expectations, is a quality product, and has a very reasonable price for what you get.

I use this bike for commuting and for casual biking on the weekends. It is a well built bike with good gear selection to get up hills. Is is quite comfortable. The tires that come with it, (Specialized Hemisphere) are another story. To put it simply they are no good, and have in my opinion a poor tread design. I have had 5 flats in 2 months driving on city streets and bike trails. I replaced both tires with the Specialized Armadillo Crossroads tire and have not had a flat in 6 months.

My husband I have been riding 10 years logging 500-1000 miles depending if we were still working and lived in the midwest with winters and no hills or in northern CA with many hills. We have had several Trek comfort bikes until last year. In CA, I almost gave up riding because I couldn't conquer most hills. With this bike I am up the hills! I am 66, 4'11", over 200# and the seat is very comfortable! I no longer need my old tractor seat! I went into the store to buy a 22 pound bike for several hundred dollars more, but this bike is a lot of bike for the money!!

Three months ago, after retirement at age 65, I bought the Crossroads Elite for myself. This is the first time I had ridden a bike in 30+ years. I really like the bike and ride it in the nearby parks, both hilly and flat. I ride about 4 hours a week and the Crossroads is a great ride for my tender back. After having tested my bike (many times) my wife bought herself a Crossroads Sport for herself. We are really happy with the bikes.

I hadn't been on a bike in 30 years when I bought this one. After about 2.5 months I'm doing an average of 30 miles a week riding 5-6 days a week, and working up to much more. I've got 300 miles on it now and have no complaints. Shifts great both up and down. I don't know of a thing that I would change. I would buy this again if I had it to do over.

I have had this bike for 5 months and I love it. I am a large man (300+) and I ride with my children and wife in the evenings and on weekends. We trail ride in the local parks and it is soo comfortable.

I am a 50 year old woman. I bought the bike to get in shape and to keep keep my gas costs down. I have only had my bike for 2 weeks but have fallen in love with it already. It shifts easily, pedals nice, and is easy to control. My only con, and one of the factors (In fact my primary factor)was seat comfort. I thought the wide seat would be more comfortable. Even after putting a gel pad over the seat, my bottom still needs a rest every couple of miles or so. maybe I was asking too much. Otherwise, I love the bike !

I bought a Specialized Crossroads Sport from [...] two years ago and it has been great. The price was right and it's been a very reliable bike. I commute and run errands around town at least three days a week and it hasn't missed a beat. I'm a woman over 50 years old and I wasn't looking for a fancy racing bike or a stump jumper. I just wanted something that was comfortable, stable and easy to maintain. The Crossroads has been all that and more.

All I wanted in a bike when I purchased this one was a reliable bike to do mostly on road biking and a few light trails. This bike is so unreliable, I do not take it anywhere anymore where I would not be comfortable walking home. I have spent countless dollars on tire tubes because the tires go flat so often (80 psi is the minimum rated pressure for the standard tires on this bike). Bikes in this category are a dime a dozen - steer clear of Specialized if you want a bike that you can actually count on.

Specialized has a keeper here. The difference between our old Wally World bikes and our Crossroads is very obvious the minute you sit down and start pedaling. S-M-O-O-T-H and Easy Pedaling. My Wife and I got a pair of these after putting around 900 miles on our other bikes. Our old average speed was 7.5 mph. Our new avg is 9.5 mph (on a short bike trail in town). The components are so much better, that now my wife changes gears. The other bikes had cheap comp's. Brakes are awesome, stop on a dime smoothly and quietly. Everyone who has ridden our new bikes are amazed. The tires have a 100 P.S.I. rating (max.), and I keep 75- 80 in them for easy rolling. I'm really glad I made the decision to buy Specialized, as our dealer will take good care of us. Specialized = Quality. [...]
